Kenpo Strike, Day One. May 1, 2006
This book is dedicated to all those who helped us on your way--
and to our detractors, too. Without them our determination would not have been the same.

Prior to the newest Kenpo "Strike" on Ultimate Kenpo Alliance, I check to see if there is already Kenpo Day, Week, Month or even a Year. Not a single local, national or international kenpo celebration is found. If anyone out there knows about one, please let me know. Apparently this site is onto something truly new and different. How could the potential for a special period of time set aside for kenpo have possibly been overlooked for so long!? Of course, some of the teachers out there would show you a strike or two of their own then explain (with that piercing, thoughtful look in their eye) that every day is Kenpo Day. "So let that be a lesson to you!" That is what I hear when it is my turn looking up from the mat.
Lessons aside, the strike is off to a good strong start even before the official day begins. Prior to the May first due date, Professor David Kosho offers plenty of good subject matter, I would say weapons in this case, to post about. More strikers pour into the ring for the fight including Hernaldo "KO" Jua, Blammon 3, Masa "Beat" Suzuki, Kennethpo, and Melio Soriano Lopez- Diaz saying he actually cannot wait for the month to begin. Lee Marvin joins in while expressing how he is under pressure to study in order to present a good kenpo post. Best wishes in your search Lee Marvin. We are all rooting for you. Guardian is apparently climbing into the ring. Mike Nace is in and wondering why all the fuss when the name of the site already has "Kenpo" in it. (Well Mike, you had to be there.) Nancy Ishara enters proclaiming "Kenpo Rocks" in a way that makes me imagine she is entering accompanied by applause wearing a really nice fighting robe. Insistent Latin Beauty is also in and I strongly suspect her large number of fans are very happy about that.
Many kenpo people are all in the ring posting but where is the competition in this fight? Absolutely no blocks or challenges by enemies are put up so far. John Elder even stops by with well wishes to everyone and their "31 days of kenpo." The Elder's, known as kick boxers to those of the site, are apparently in heavy training right now. Yes fans, It is going to be the classic struggle of man against himself, to post or not.
Now to the blow by blow action everyone has been waiting for. Is anyone actually posting or will this be some sort of quiet month of kenpo meditation? Is there any bark in the bite? Apparently kenpo students and teachers are clicking the keys where it counts. Jarette Glaz is in with the first shot going straight to the head with his post shortly after midnight. Also coming on strong in the strike is Angela Page, Guardian, and Professor David Kosho all with posts. Keith Angler apparently quietly joins the fight with a post or two on day one. Another surprise is in order for UKA. Kenpo Joe returns posting strong to the board with news of his newest award! Congratulations is in order to Kenpo Joe for the 2006 Valadez Kenpo Association Hall of Fame as "Kenpo Instructor of the year." That is great news to kick this newest, never done before kenpo month off.
Congratulations is also in order to everyone on UKA for a strong and successful first day showing! The kenpo month has just begun. I am sure more surprises are in order too. After all, there are 30 more days to go!
